What is Concrete Corrosion?
-Corrosion of the embedded reinforcement in concrete usually becomes apparent through exterior spalling and delamination of the concrete's surface
-Over a period of time, the steel reinforcement within the concrete is attacked and corrodes, as this happens the surface area of the steel expands up to 3 times its original volume, which causes the concrete to crack and delaminate.
-Once corrosion is identified it needs to be treated to prevent further structural degradation.
-This can be treated by using QED's Embedded Corrosion Inhibitors Margel ™, alternatively you can use cathodic protection.
